📖Technical Information
What is IPFS?
InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) is a distributed file storage and sharing protocol designed to be a more efficient and decentralized alternative to the traditional client-server model of the internet. IPFS allows users to store and access files in a decentralized network, where files are distributed across multiple nodes instead of being stored in a central server. This makes it more resistant to censorship, data loss, and data breaches, while also reducing the reliance on centralized servers.
OpenResearch has integrated IPFS as a way for users to upload their research papers and proposals to the blockchain. With IPFS, users can store their files in a distributed network, where they are replicated across multiple nodes to ensure durability and availability. When users upload their files to IPFS, they receive a unique content identifier (CID), which can be used to retrieve the file from the network at any time.
